Donors are faced with hundreds of choices when looking for worthy causes to support. At times, the sheer number of nonprofits and lack of comparative information about them can be overwhelming, and in some cases will prevent a donor from giving. When you work at a community foundation, you are all too familiar with this challenge.

That’s where Blackbaud Nonprofit Central™ comes in.

Blackbaud Nonprofit Central is an online database connected to Blackbaud® NetCommunity™. It allows community foundations to connect donors with local nonprofits that meet the donors’ philanthropic interests. Blackbaud Nonprofit Central gives local nonprofits a central place to highlight their mission and gives donors the information they need to give wisely. And it positions you as the center of philanthropy in your community. 

How does it work?
Nonprofits complete an online application profile, similar to applying for a grant. You then vet the nonprofit for grant making and impact potential using key performance indicators (KPIs). Once approved, you add the nonprofit to Blackbaud Nonprofit Central. Then, with Blackbaud NetCommunity as your web portal, potential donors can search the database and compare the nonprofit to others like it using criteria such as fundraising expense ratios, staff turnover, and program efficacy.
