Bay Path College Bay Path College Chooses Target Analytics to Establish and Grow Major Gifts Program
For more than 110 years, Bay Path College has provided one of the few American undergraduate programs exclusively for women. Nationally recognized and fully accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges, Bay Path now offers more than 30 majors and minors to its approximately 1,600 undergraduate students, in addition to supporting a thriving co-ed graduate school, a unique Saturday program for working adults, and several online master’s and certificate programs.
The Challenge: At Bay Path, approximately 90% of students receive financial aid or scholarship money. To continue providing this level of financial assistance, staff decided to embark on a new capital campaign — and they sought to establish a major gifts program to help grow their fundraising efforts. But with only two staff members managing the project and no resources to hire a prospect researcher, they knew they needed help.
The Solution: After examining three vendors, the staff selected ProspectPoint®, WealthPoint®, and The Researcher’s Edge™ from Target Analytics, a Blackbaud company. They felt that Target Analytics’ solution offered the most comprehensive screening system available to help identify and qualify the best prospects among the 13,000 constituents already in the College’s database, as well as an ever-growing number of prospects and donors.
The Results: The Target Analytics team directed Bay Path’s staff to those prospects they knew the least about. With this new data, Bay Path’s staff could easily identify and meet with the top prospects. The staff generated a list of the top 100 prospects and visited with them. One such visit concluded in a $25K endowed scholarship from a prospect who had made only minimal gifts in the past, but whom Target Analytics had identified as a “top prospect.” Several others are expected to become major donors within the next one or two years, and the Bay Path staff couldn’t be happier with their selection, the service they’ve received, or the results they’re now reaping. |
