Make-A-Wish Foundation of Michigan Make-A-Wish Foundation of Michigan Uses Blackbaud Solutions To Integrate Fundraising and Financial Offices and Process Gifts More Easily
Since opening in 1984, Make-A-Wish Foundation of Michigan has granted wishes to more than 5,000 children with life-threatening medical conditions, and anticipates fulfilling more than 400 additional wishes in the next 12 months.
The Challenge:
With the number of requests on the rise, staff members at Make-A-Wish Foundation of Michigan realized that the software it was using to process information could not support the organization’s future growth.
The Solution:
Make-A-Wish Foundation of Michigan decided to deploy a combination of Blackbaud solutions, including The Raiser’s Edge® for managing fundraising, wish information, and volunteers, and The Financial Edge™ for managing finances, bringing all administrative operations in house and providing a holistic view of the organization.
The Results:
With the Blackbaud solution in place, the organization can enter each child’s wish as an individual fund, allowing staff to view and track all expenses and donations, including gifts-in-kind, for each wish. Using The Raiser’s Edge with The Financial Edge for reporting instead of relying on an outside firm gives staff hands-on access to financial records they need. The software also allows them to create reports for everyone from board members to the national Make-A-Wish office.
